Week of October 15th - 19th

We are beginning our first PTO fundraiser and they are the awesome, wonderful, delicious Krispy Kreme donuts!  So, please, buy a lot for your family and know that you will be purchasing school supplies and other school needs at the same time!  (Just a reminder--please don't sell door-to-door.  There isn't anything we need that is more important than the safety of your child!)

Don't forget that Wednesday is an Early Release Day.

Our first graders will be going on a field trip to the Pumpkin Patch on Friday, October 19th.  If you need a permission slip, please email us at moseley@putnamschools.org and we'll send one to you.

The end of the nine weeks is quickly approaching!  The last day for this grading period will be October 25th.  Please make an appointment to see your child's teacher or make a phone call to your child's teacher before the 25th to make sure that all missing work has been turned in.  It is very important to all of us that your child be successful here at Moseley.

Currie's green eggs and ham

After reading the book "Green Eggs and Ham" by Dr. Seuss, students in Mrs. Gina Currie's kindergarten class tasted their very own green eggs and ham!

Bivins' science experiment 10 2 07

Mrs. Lillian Bivins' fifth grade class conducted an experiment entitled "Water Can Be a Gas".  In this experiment her fifth grade students investigated the use of electicity in bringing about a chemical change and discovered that water molecules can be separated into smaller components of oxygen and hydrogen.

Week of October 8 - 12

We are having a wonderful school year!  Our students are working hard in reading, science, writing and math and we are showing some wonderful results!  Be sure to check out our pictures of Mrs. McClendon’s class as they observe the three states of matter all within one clear cup!

This coming week is an eventful one.  We will be observing the beginning of Fire Prevention Week this Monday as well as Columbus Day.  On Tuesday, the Blood Mobile will be here from 7:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  We would appreciate it if you could come and donate a pint of blood.  This coming Thursday will be our first Terrific Kid program for this school year.  If your child has been chosen as Terrific Kid, the program will begin at 1:30 p.m. in the cafeteria and you are welcome to check your child out early once the program ends.

Did you know that Moseley has been chosen as one of five schools to test a new teaching strategy?  This program combines two strategies that have already proven to be very successful into one.  Teachers at Moseley will be using the highly effective methods of instruction from the Florida Reading Initiative and then will meet weekly to study, graph and determine the most effective method (Continuous Improvement Method) of teaching your child.  It is quite an honor for us to be chosen to participate in this program!
