Merry Christmas!
Happy Kwanzaa!
May all the richness of the season be yours to enjoy and treasure!
We've had a wonderful week here at school. Traditionally the last week before school gets out is a wasted week where the children simply refuse to listen as they secretly eat hidden treats or pass notes or talk or play or... But not our students! Right up until the afternoon of the last day our wonderful students were continuing to learn and improve themselves!
Please remember that when we return from Christmas Break we will be preparing for the FCAT which is growing closer by the day so it's very important that your child(ren) continue to read and use their math and thinking skills. You could make the homework more fun by having your child read the menus and recipes or even a newspaper for you while you cook. Perhaps this year you could have place cards which your child could make (being sure to spell all the names correctly) and decorate! Another fun idea would be to have your child add up (in their head) how much you're spending when you go to the store.
Remember that your child's ability to think and reason are vitally important to making a good grade on the FCAT so while you're having fun this holiday season, talk to your child about why you and your family do the things you do. Talk about your traditions and what they mean to you and ask your child to tell you how he/she feels about it. Being able to express their thoughts and feelings is an asset.
Most of all, everyone here at Moseley wishes you the happiest of holiday seasons. Please enjoy the time together and rest assured that when your child returns to Moseley we will again devote all our time and efforts in preparing your child(ren) to be the most successful student possible.
