Blogs, wikis, social bookmarking, Twitter, Skype, IM, You Tube, i-Tunes, Flickr, podcasts, social networks, Google tools ...
Our students are already using these applications all the time so our first priority should be to teach them social networking safety.
Alternatives - Our district blocks YouTube but do you know about TeacherTube? We block e-blogger (Goggle's blogspot blogs) but If you build a blog using e-blogger we can unblock your specific url. You just have to create it initially from home. You can also currently use TypePad, Blog Meister, Gaggle or E-Pals for blogs.
