During our review of some of the most interesting items found at FETC I offered to post them here. Unfortunately I didn't write all of them down so I am counting on you to help me remember. Please post under comments until I can build everyone an account. Justin showed us Edmodo which is a free and private social platform for teachers and students to share ideas, files, events and assignments.Esme mentioned she wanted to have students blog but didn't want to create individual student accounts so this is a tool that could work for her too. Students create their own accounts and are supplied with a course number. Marie shared that her students have National Geographic epals. The translators are impressive and her students will be communicating with students in Romania. We did some troubleshooting with iweb and Katie and Esme may have a solution to changing the color in a stubborn navigation bar. We also discussed the need for an additional piece of software to supplement iweb. Photoshop Elements training will be offered in the spring. Other mentions included:
possible workshops from the Astronaut's Memorial Program,
Software for Newscasters shared on Brenda's blog,
The Smart Exchange - thousands of ready made lessons for Smart boards,,
Tammy Woreschester's site - Technology Tips for Teachers,
Building background knowledge with Google Lit trips.
